An integrated approach to digital inclusion in Dorset
In this webinar, Penny Syddall from Dorset Council will discuss the strategic approach that they adopted in Dorset to address digital inclusion, based on the ‘what good looks like’ framework.
Description
Dorset Integrated Care System is a long established ICS and has adopted a ‘system first’ approach for a while.
When it came to addressing digital inclusion for their population, it had to be a collaboration, including local authorities, NHS, voluntary organisations and primary care.
In this webinar, Penny will discuss the strategy that they adopted in Dorset to address digital inclusion, based on the ‘what good looks like’ framework.
By using thousands of embedded digital champions in Dorset, they have been able to help people where they are, removing barriers for accessing digital support. The vision is to have a single system as far as the resident is concerned, for example they could go to their surgery about their digital NHS appointment but could also ask for support with registering their child for school.
Penny will discuss:
- How they developed the role of the digital champions
- How they used an iterative approach to review engagement and adapt their strategy
- The importance of working together across social care and the NHS
- How they are also supporting the digitisation of social care records
